Volunteers support Aldington reed bed clean-up!
Volunteers from our Sellindge Grid Stability Facility project delivery team 'got their hands dirty' in support of the clearance of a drainage channel, running through the dense reed bed system near the site in Kent.
The hardy bunch joined Cllr Linda Harman and Aldington Parish Council representatives - in their waders and gloves - to hand-remove accumulated reeds, contributing to improved water flow and field maintenance.
Councillor Harman said: "Welsh Power has demonstrated a commendable level of engagement and cooperation with us, here in Aldington."
Their willingness to communicate openly with the parish council and to listen to local concerns has significantly eased our role in overseeing this project.
"In addition, the team have joined us on several community projects, which we have really appreciated."
Despite the muddy (and slightly smelly) conditions, the activity was highly productive and tackled with great enthusiasm by everyone involved.
